Columbia, S.C – The U.S. Small Business Administration’s South Carolina District and the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) formalized their partnership on May 14 by signing a strategic alliance to share resources and collaborate in future training events.
The signing ceremony took place with SCRA’s Executive Director, Bob Quinn, and Gregg White, South Carolina’s SBA District Director at SCRA’s Applied Technologies Center in Summerville, SC. The alliance is intended to further economic development through entrepreneurship, improve educational opportunities and advance access to capital and technical assistance.
“We recognize the common goals of SCRA and SBA in helping to start, maintain, and expand small businesses,” said Gregg White, SC SBA District Director. “This is an opportunity to leverage the resources of both organizations for the benefit of South Carolina small businesses.” SCRA is a non-profit corporation that supports South Carolina's innovation economy by creating jobs, furthering company growth and facilitating academic research and commercialization.
“By supporting entrepreneurs, small businesses and early-stage companies, we are creating opportunities for the citizens of South Carolina.” said Bob Quinn, SCRA Executive Director. “We are excited to formalize our relationship with the SC SBA and look forward to our future collaborations with their team.” SCRA was a partner of the South Carolina Salute to Small Business event that was held during National Small Business Week that occurs on the first week of May. SBA will also be a partner of the SC Launch Summit Annual Conference on May 24 at the USC Alumni Center in downtown Columbia.
