Art Appraiser To Give Gallery Talk

If you have ever wondered what a piece of art is worth, if you’ve wished you knew what to look for when purchasing art or you have other questions about art appraisals, you might want to attend the next Creative Exchange presentation at Calabash, N. C. art gallery, Sunset River Marketplace.

Professional art appraiser Amy Chapman from Columbia, S. C. will explain what she does, how art is valued, and when a formal appraisal is necessary. She will also offer tips on proper storage and what to look for when buying art.

Chapman, who grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC, attended the Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology where she studied advanced art. Since then she has explored the history and making of art, earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in art history.
