Local author, artist, and historian Miller Pope will talk about the colorful Pirates of the Carolinas at 7:00 PM on June 4, 2013 at the Museum of Coastal Carolina. Miller Pope was born in South Carolina but spent most of his career during the “golden age of illustration” in the New York advertising and publishing arena. In Pope’s June 4 presentation, he will describe the days when some of history’s most infamous pirates plagued the coasts of North and South Carolina. Co-sponsored by OIB Surf & Java, the June 4 program is part of the Sand Bar Café series of presentations by guest speakers on a variety of interesting topics.
