
As you no doubt know, food insecurity is significant in Horry County. The Low Country Food Bank estimates that it will take 700,000 pounds of additional free food to alleviate the county’s food insecurity.
We know that hungry kids can’t learn. We also know that some folks aren’t ready to say they can’t feed their kids. So, we are installing Free Pantries that make non-perishable food available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
We see our pantries benefiting:
And since the Pantry’s mantra is “Take What You Need. Leave What You Can” they also benefit community members who want to give to help their neighbors.
